Pete Briere, a 20-year geospatial industry veteran and former general manager at Premier Geospatial, has been appointed general manager of Continental Mapping‘s civil works division.
He will be responsible for business development, field acquisition and production functions for the company’s federal survey and mapping services in his new position, Continental Mapping said.
“Pete is an excellent addition to the senior management team at Continental Mapping,” said Andy Dougherty, Continental Mapping president.
“He brings industry depth as well as technical experience that fits very nicely into our growth plans.”
Briere helped grow Premier Geospatial’s portfolio for prime federal contracts and oversaw its merger and acquisition activities during his work at the firm.
He served as the civil works department manager and a senior program manager for federal contracts on remote sensing, geographic information systems and emergency response services at 3001, which Northrop Grumman acquired in 2008.
Briere, a licensed surveyor photogrammetrist in Virginia, also supported U.S. Geological Survey research programs in the Everglades and Gulf of Mexico before he joined 3001.
