Sixteen employees of Science Applications International Corp. have received numerous awards at the 31st annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards’ science, technology, engineering and math conference in Washington.
SAIC CEO Tony Moraco said in a statement released Friday that he is honored to recognize the company’s employees in their efforts to encourage younger generations to pursue STEM-related careers.
Elton Akins, vice president of programs at SAIC, received the Linda Gooden Legacy Award and the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Engineering Deans’ Special Recognition Award for his support to engineers and scientists in the aerospace and defense sector.
