Textron‘s systems advanced information solutions unit has updated a technology platform that works to integrate and manage data from multiple remote platforms such as sensors and information feeds.
The company said Tuesday the iCommand 2.5 is designed to help users obtain a single pane view of previously disparate data and attach critical information to raw data necessary for mission planning activities.
The platform runs on a disconnected, intermittent and limited environment and utilizes current network infrastructure and deployed transport layers to help increase efficiency and bandwidth for data and video streams, Textron added.
iCommand 2.5 is also built with the Apache Kafka messaging middleware that works to support system adaptability, fault tolerance as well as helps to increase data throughput and the amount of tracked entities.
Textron added the platform offers data aspects editing, customized and standard georeferenced entities, setup automated alerts, event logs, recorded video playback and GeoMarkers sharing functions.
Daryl Madden, senior vice president and general manager of advanced information solutions at Textron’s systems business, said the updated offering applies the capacity of its iCommand predecessor to a wider range of environments.
