L3 Technologies‘ commercial training solutions business will collaborate with the Surrey County Council in England to establish a London-based airline training center and a production facility for aircraft simulators.
The company said Monday it plans to open the L3 London Training Center in the second quarter of 2018.
L3 added the other facility will be built to produce 30 simulators annually and feature eight RealitySeven full flight simulators, fixed-based simulators, briefing rooms, classrooms, meeting rooms and a restaurant.
The two buildings will be co-located at a site near London’s Gatwich Airport and willl cover more than 150,000 square feet.
“Our Center of Excellence will provide increased airline training capacity for our customers around the globe, as well as serve as an economic development catalyst for the London Gatwick area,” said Michael Strianese, L3 Technologies chairman and CEO.
