Rhett Hernandez, a retired U.S. Army lieutenant general and former commander of the Army Cyber Command, has joined Washington-based privileged account management technology provider Thycotic as strategic adviser for the public sector on cybersecurity matters.
Thycotic said Thursday the 39-year veteran helped grow the service branch’s cyber force with nearly 17,000 personnel and led various initiatives to optimize operations and defense across Army networks.
“Having someone as experienced in the cybersecurity space such as Hernandez join as an adviser validates our company’s growth and direction,” said Damon Tompkins, vice president of the Americas region at Thycotic.
Hernandez previously served as the deputy chief of staff for Army operations; chief of the U.S. military training mission in Saudi Arabia; and commanding general at the Human Resources Command.
He is also currently president of CyberLens and West Point cyber chair at the Army Cyber Institute.
