Former Deloitte CEO Joseph Echevarria and Cheryl Krongard, a former senior partner at Apollo Management, have joined Xerox’s board of directors.
The appointments will take effect Jan. 1 and bring the total number of the company’s board members to 11, Xerox said Monday.
“Xerox will greatly benefit from Joe’s knowledge of international business and professional services and Cheryl’s expertise in institutional asset management, as we begin our exciting next phase after our separation into two independent companies,†said Ursula Burns, chairman and CEO of Xerox.
Echevarria also sits on the board of directors of Pfizer, Unum Group and Bank of New York Mellon.
Krongard also serves as a member of the board of directors of Air Lease Corp. and Legg Mason.
The appointments came six months after Jeff Jacobson was named Xerox CEO after the company announced plans in January to divide into two publicly traded firms.
Jacobson will lead the document management and outsourcing company that will retain the Xerox brand, while the other company will adopt the name Conduent once the split concludes by the end of 2016.
