Vencore‘s applied research organization has secured a $3.4 million contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to help secure military wireless and data against attacks and technical compromises.
Vencore Labs will work with DARPA to validate and demonstrate network security technologies on military radios under the third and final phase of the agency’s Wireless Network Defense program, the company said Monday.
The organization will provide a wireless defense framework that is designed to mitigate attacks; impose minimal overhead on the network; protect disparate networks through a common defensive framework; and incorporate existing hardware and equipment.
DARPA previously selected Vencore Labs to support WND’s first phase which involved technology development as well as the second phase which focused on the application of technologies to heterogeneous wireless networks.
Vencore Labs aims to apply its experience in wireless network protocols, cybersecurity and data analytics through the WND program.
