United Launch Alliance has introduced a new website designed to provide customers with pricing information on space launch services in an effort to facilitate the decision-making process during the spacecraft development phase.
ULA’s RocketBuilder website works to provide users an option to choose a launch date, rocket configuration and the satellite’s orbit as well as select a service, the Boeing–Lockheed Martin joint venture said Wednesday.
RocketBuilder seeks to help clients “build a rocket based on the needs they input, their spacecraft specifications and mission requirements†and aims to serve as “an educational reference for students, teachers, or anyone with an interest in rockets and space,†said Tory Bruno, president and CEO of ULA.
The online site works to help users compare insurance savings, determine launch schedule certainty and extend the satellite’s life on orbit.
“Comparing not only the cost of a mission, but the important value items such as schedule certainty is critical for customers,†Bruno added.
