SAIC to Sustain MH-60 Helicopter Weapon Systems for US Navy, Intl Clients - top government contractors - best government contracting eventScience Applications International Corp. has secured a five-year, $11.8 million contract to support and sustain weapon systems of the U.S. Navy‘s fleet of MH-60 Seahawk helicopters.

The Defense Department said Friday the Naval Surface Warfare Center will obligate $100,000 in fiscal 2017 working capital funds at the time of award for support and sustainment work on MH-60R Romeo and MH-60S Sierra helicopter variants.

DoD added the contract also covers purchases from the governments of Australia, Denmark and Saudi Arabia via the foreign military sales program.

SAIC will perform work under the cost-plus-fixed–fee, definitive contract in Indiana through December 2021.

MH-60S is designed for aeromedical evacuation, anti-surface warfare, search and rescue, combat support, humanitarian disaster relief and airborne mine countermeasure operations.

MH-60R is intended for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, surveillance, communications relay, naval gunfire support, logistics and search and rescue missions.
