Motorola Solutions has acquired a unified communications platform and related integrated communications control system products from Cyfas Systems to expand smart public safety offerings for U.K. customers.
Motorola said Thursday the Mobile Assets Communications System will support the development of a new ICSS deployment model that will work to help customers move from a hardware-centric delivery system to software- and cloud-based options.
“The acquisition will bring a new cloud-based solution option to the market, extending the company’s next generation control room footprint and helping agencies prepare for a multi-technology environment,” said Tom Guthrie, vice president of Motorola’s smart public safety solutions business.
MACS is designed to operate with terrestrial trunked radio networks and integrate with the U.K.’s emergency services network through a cloud-based architecture.
