The U.S. Navy has awarded Lockheed Martin a $13.2 million contract modification to supply six AN/BVY-1 integrated submarine imaging systems and spare parts.
Lockheed will deliver the systems for Navy users to acquire all-weather, visual and electronic search, digital image management, indication, warning and platform architecture interfaces, the Defense Department said Friday.
The system is designed to help facilitate the integration of new future functions to Los Angeles-class, Seawolf-class, Ohio-class, Converted Ohio-class and Virginia-class submarines under the Technical Insertion Advance Processor Builds within the Submarine Warfare Federated System process.
Work will take place in Virginia and Massachusetts through October 2018.
The Naval Sea Systems Command has obligated $13.2 million from the Navy’s fiscal year 2013 and 2014 shipbuilding and conversion contract funds, along with FY 2017 “other procurement” funds.
