Jacobs - ExecutiveMosaicThe New Jersey Department of Transportation has chosen Jacobs Engineering Group to oversee construction inspections under a project that aims to develop  alternative business and commuter travel options and intermodal connections in the state.

NJDOT’s Smart Moves 2015–North project covers the establishment of a camera surveillance system on Interstate 78, a message system on Route 23 and two truck safety warning systems, Jacobs said Tuesday.

The company will manage inspection activities in the city of Newark; counties of Essex, Hunterdon, Morris and Passaic; and townships of Clinton, Parsippany-Troy Hills and West Milford.

“We look forward to contributing our expertise to this important project, which is built on many years of experience in developing transport infrastructure networks and related systems around the world,” said Randy Pierce, senior vice president of Jacobs’ buildings and infrastructure business.

The Smart Moves project is scheduled for completion in March  2018.
