Comtech Telecommunications has introduced its text-to-911 technology to an additional 28 public safety answering points in 14 U.S. states.
“Comtech has been working to advance the ability to send text messages to 9-1-1 as the first step in delivering the value of data–text, pictures and video–during an emergency situation,†President and CEO Fred Kornberg said in a statement published Tuesday.
He added that the company’s offerings are designed to support interoperability and functionality for PSAPs.
The company’s commercial solutions segment has deployed the text-to-911 feature to at least 900 local PSAPs.
