BAE Systems plans to recruit 235 graduates to work in various businesses across the defense contractor’s U.K.-based operations in 2017.
BAE said Thursday 80 graduates will join the applied intelligence business to help deliver cybersecurity services for government and commercial customers.
The company added it will hire 77 graduates for maritime businesses, 54 graduates for the military air and information business, 11 graduates for the head office, nine graduates for the electronic systems business and four for the land systems business.
“A healthy pipeline of science, technology, engineering and maths talent is absolutely vital to the future success of our businesses,” said Nigel Whitehead, BAE group managing director for programs and support.
Whitehead added BAE invests approximately $112 million in education and skills development initiatives such as employee training programs and nationwide schools roadshow.
BAE’s U.K. businesses currently train 600 graduates.
