The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wants information on small businesses that can assist USACE’s Waterborne Commerce Statistics Center in U.S. foreign transportation data collection efforts.
USACE is interested in working with a contractor to collect and deliver comprehensive information similar to manifest data gathered by the Customs Border and Protection or the bills of lading filed by shipping companies to CBP, the Army said in a sources sought notice published Tuesday on FedBizOpps.
The branch added the contractor must own an electronic database for import, export and in-transit waterborne commerce between U.S. ports and foreign countries.
The database shall contain information about carrier and shipment; geographic indicators; cargo, weight and container; product descriptions and codes; and shippers, consignees and notify parties.
The contractor would gather and transmit the data on a monthly basis, according to the notice.
Responses are due Dec. 27.
