The Association of Old Crows has inducted Northrop Grumman engineers Michael Panopoulos and James Van Kirk into the Electronic Warfare Technology Hall of Fame.
Panopoulos and Van Kirk were recognized for their contributions in the field of electronic warfare during a Nov. 29 ceremony at the three-day 53rd Annual AOC International Symposium and Convention in Washington, Northrop said Friday.
“We are incredibly proud of the countless contributions Mike and Jim have made that help ensure our warfighters stay ahead of current and evolving threats, reach their targets and return home safely,†said Daniel Friedel, director of Northrop’s mission systems business.
Van Kirk and Panopoulos work to support the U.S. Navy’s EA-18G Growler electronic warfare aircraft through Northrop’s facility in California.
Van Kirk oversees the software team that works to integrate the service branch’s next generation jammer with the Growler’s airborne electronic attack platforms suite.
Panopoulos is a 34-year Northrop veteran who is responsible for all software operations related to the aerial electronic attack suite under the Navy’s EA-18G software support activity in Point Mugu, California.
