The U.S. Census Bureau has granted VMware authority-to-operate approval under the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program to offer the company’s cloud-based enterprise mobility management platform in the public sector.
The FedRAMP ATO designation is for the VMware AirWatch platform that works to help users manage, secure and remotely deliver mobile applications from cloud environments, the company said Thursday.
Bill Rowan, vice president of federal sales at VMware, said that agencies that aim to protect and manage mobile devices and applications can now deploy the company’s EMM technology.
Rowan added that AirWatch is designed to comply with the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s cybersecurity framework.
VMware collaborated with Coalfire to develop AirWatch by VMware Government Services and address the security and privacy requirements of the federal government’s cloud computing program.
