Smiths Detection has launched a new online hub to function as a portal of opinion-based and other articles from aviation professionals to provide users insight about the sector.
The Aviation Insider website at aviation-insider.com exhibits aviation security practices and facilitate industry discussions, Smiths Detection said Monday.
“Aviation Insider is designed to be a critical hub for industry opinion; a place where best practice ideas can be shared and where discussion between practitioners can thrive for this evolving landscape,†said Cameron Mann, global market director of aviation at Smiths Detection.
Mann added the company intends for the portal to help reduce delays in flights and increase safety measures.
“The series of attacks on airports over the past two years is evidence of the fact that the world’s 2,200 airports are facing unprecedented security threats,†Mann said.
Smiths Detection has also formed a dedicated aviation services team tasked to help airports step up security based on an integrated approach to security from kerb to gate.
