SAP has launched a new network exploration application the company designed to help government agencies detect and predict emergencies.
The company said Tuesday its SAP Connection Discovery for Public Services plug-and-play software runs on the SAP HANA in-memory data platform.
“[Connection discovery]Â will reveal previously unconsidered dynamics between people, objects, locations and events in a wide variety of scenarios,” said Martin Klein, global head at SAP’s public sector industry business unit.
SAP noted the software is built to aid in public service situations such as emergency responses, investigations and disaster management.
The application is designed to feature an open platform to accommodate various types of data to help discover and visualize patterns in connected networks, SAP added.
SAP expects the software to be the first offering built on SAP HANA extended application services — a reengineered application server that works to support development of native applications on the HANA platform.
