Samsung Subsidiary Taps Elbit to Protect Customers from Attacks; Adi Dar Comments

Samsung SDS, a Samsung subsidiary, has selected Elbit Systems‘ Cyberbit company to provide services meant to protect Samsung SDS’ clients from cyber attacks.

Samsung SDS and Cyberbit will use Cyberbit’s SCADAShield to perform non-intrusive deep-packet inspection on Korean customers’ critical infrastructure, Elbit said Wednesday.

SCADAShield is designed to protect customers’ critical infrastructure from cyber attacks and provide network managers a holistic view of their internal control systems.

“Critical infrastructure facilities are particularly vulnerable to cyber attacks because of their legacy hardware, unique communication protocols and the lack of security awareness among operational network managers,” said Adi Dar, Cyberbit’s general manager.

“We will collaborate with Samsung to bridge this gap and help organizations in the Asia Pacific region to protect themselves from critical cyberattacks of potentially massive scale,” added Dar.
