Mitre has partnered with BioHealth Innovation Inc. to provide cybersecurity mentorship to startup companies at the Rockville Innovation Center in Maryland.
RIC houses BHI’s health technology startup accelerator Relevant Health and aims to graduate early-stage technology firms into the commercial market of Montgomery County through various resources, BHI said Monday.
“This arrangement enables each party to focus on what it does best, while taking both the RIC and Montgomery County’s business community to new heights,†said Mark Maybury, chief security officer of Mitre and vice president and director of the National Cybersecurity FFRDC.
Mitre professionals will work to mentor resident RIC startups on several cybersecurity challenges that public and private organizations face through tactical workshops and entrepreneurship support from corporate, strategic and investment partners.
The nonprofit will also provide mentorship in the areas of technology strategy, service approach and government and industry engagement.
Maryland Economic Development Corp. also selected BHI to manage the Germantown Innovation Center based in the Pinkney Innovation Complex for Science and Technology at Montgomery College.
