SAP National Security Services’ nonprofit organization has certified a group of 19 military veterans who underwent an information technology training program designed to help them land jobs in the IT industry, the Andrews Gazette reported Wednesday.
Hannah Troyer writes the sixth class of veterans attended the graduation ceremony for NS2 Serves’ 12-week training program on Nov. 18 held at TPC Potomac in Maryland.
“[Veterans] think because everyone has told them how wonderful they are, they’re going to get employed, but they don’t,†said Mark Testoni, president and CEO of SAP NS2 and founder of the NS2 Serves organization.
“So, we take all those great skills, layer in all of these certifications, and the combination is really effective,†Testoni added.
Other speakers at the graduation ceremony include Joseph Kernan, chairman of NS2 Serves; and Craig McKinkley, a retired U.S. Air Force general, the report said.
NS2 Serves conducts the program in the fall and spring and has helped provide employment opportunities for 120 veterans in the IT sector, Troyer reports.
