IBM has partnered with the U.S. Agency for International Development and the government of Armenia to unveil a new center in Armenia that will work to provide training courses to students in support of the development of the country’s information technology sector, the Public Radio of Armenia reported Thursday.
Siranush Ghazanchyan writes USAID, IBM and the Armenian government also teamed up with the country’s Enterprise Incubator Foundation and Yerevan State University to open the Innovative Solutions and Technologies Center.
Over 1,500 students in Armenia have received training in the areas of cloud computing, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and business process management through ISTC, according to the report.
Sergey Belov, university relations manager at IBM, said ISTC would help IBM advance collaboration in Armenia through research and education.
The 1,000 square-meter ISTC facility opened Thursday at Yerevan State University’s campus with new initiatives that include the Research Grant Program that will provide recipients access to IBM’s cloud infrastructure, the report added.
