The National Security Agency has certified Harris‘ Falcon III AN/PRC-117G manpack radio system to operate with the Defense Department‘s Mobile User Objective System waveform.
The Type-1 NSA certification validates the security measures Harris has put in place to facilitate military data and voice communications through the multiband networking radio technology, the company said Wednesday.
Chris Young, president of Harris’ communication systems segment, said the NSA certification allows the company to continue its communications technology support for warfighters on the battlefield.
To date, Harris has provided more than 30,000 MUOS-enabled AN/PRC-117G tactical radios to military customers along with a software update, a diplexer and an antenna kit.
MUOS is designed to provide mobile satellite connectivity for DoD users through tactical radios.
