The U.S. Army has awarded DiSTI a $2.8 million contract to develop a three-dimensional training platform for the Counter-Rocket, Artillery and Mortar, Land-Based Phalanx Weapon System.
DiSTI said Tuesday the C-RAM LPWS Operator/Maintainer Trainer will work to generate a virtual training interactive environment for weapon operations and maintenance.
The company added it will incorporate its VE Studio development toolkit into the C-RAM LPWS OMT program to create Unity game engine-based 3D content.
The training system will comprise simulation software, a networked instructor/operator station, multimode lesson engine/procedure monitor software and networked electronic classroom’s computers and displays.
DiSTI is scheduled to deliver the C-RAM LPWS OMTs to Fort Sill in Oklahoma, Fort Campbell in Kentucky and Fort Lee in Virginia by April 2018.
The C-RAM LPWS is a site defense system designed to intercept rockets, artillery shells and mortar rounds.
