Dell has unveiled a new data protection offering designed to help secure critical business data at rest or in transit through an integrated set of functionalities.
The Dell Data Protection | Secure Lifecycle tool is part of the Dell Data Security Solutions portfolio and incorporates data encryption, file access monitoring, data leakage prevention and digital rights management features for data protection functions, Dell said Tuesday.
“Securing and encrypting these data, not just at rest, but in motion and in use, has become critical to maintaining integrity and control,†said Brett Hansen, vice president of Dell endpoint data security and management.
Dell designed the tool to define access rights and permit information technology professionals to limit access to files for individual members of the IT team.
Secure Lifecycle also is built to feature a holistic view of data, devices and operating systems in order to help protect items stored in external drives, cloud platforms and mobile devices.
Dell will release the offering for commercial availability on Dec. 1 in the U.S. and other countries.
