A Comtech Telecommunications subsidiary has received a $2.2 million contract by Sweden’s defense material administration to provide deployable troposcatter systems to the Swedish armed forces.
Comtech said Wednesday it will supply MTTS deployable troposcatter terminals that were customized to address deployable communication requirements of the Sweden’s military.
Fred Kornberg, president and CEO of Comtech Telecommunications, said the contract award demonstrates a growing need of military organizations to update existing communications toolkits to support various operational scenarios.
MTTS is designed with the company’s CS67500 troposcatter modem, CS4400 frequency converter system and 500-watt solid state power amplifiers.
The Swedish defense material administration awarded the contract following a multiyear evaluation of Comtech’s commercial off-the-shelf troposcatter products.
