Vecna has received a Defense Department accreditation and authorization to operate the company’s patient self-service check-in system on the DoD network.
The DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process and ATO from the Defense Health Agency serve to clear Vecna’s system for DoD use with the department’s electronic health record and dental application, the company said Tuesday.
The self-service tool works to automate the check-in procedure for patients at medical and dental clinics, pharmacies, laboratories and radiology centers and help medical staff manage patient wait times and patient flow.
Vecna said patients can use the kiosk-based system to check in for appointments, confirm their demographic and insurance data, respond to patient satisfaction surveys and fill in electronic forms.
Bill Donnell, Vecna’s vice president of government business, said the company is set to exhibit its latest technology offerings at the upcoming Joint Federal Pharmacy Seminar from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 in Washington, D.C.
