Saab will feature its anti-submarine warfare training system and waterborne anti-improvised explosive device vehicle at the Unmanned Warrior event in Scotland and Wales from Oct. 10 to 21.
The company said Wednesday it will demonstrate its Sea Wasp anti-IED underwater robot and AUV62-AT acoustic target system that works to replicate active and passive submarine signatures for ASW force training.
“Representatives from navies of UK, Europe, USA, Canada, Australia and Sweden, among others, will have the chance to experience our new underwater technology within the area of anti-submarine warfare and mine countermeasures,” said Anne-Marie Vosu, head of Saab’s underwater systems business unit.
She added the U.K. navy will deploy the Sea Wasp to assist in harbor search missions and counter-underwater IED and mine threat operations.
The British navy has invited the U.S. Navy and other industry, academia and defense partners to test new unmanned aerial vehicles, unmanned underwater vehicles and unmanned surface vehicles during the Unmanned Warrior event.
Unmanned Warrior is a multinational event designed to showcase the latest maritime autonomous technological developments of roughly 40 companies and organizations selected by the U.K. navy.
