William Swanson, former chairman and CEO of Raytheon, has joined the board of directors of Pwnie Express, a developer of device threat detection technology for wired, wireless and connected devices.
Swanson led Raytheon for nearly 10 years before he retired from the defense company in September 2014 after a 42-year career there, Pwnie Express said Wednesday.
“Bill’s leadership and information security track record, as well as his experience working with leaders in government, armed services, and industry, solidifies our momentum across these critical sectors,†said Paul Paget, CEO of Pwnie Express.
Swanson currently is a member of the Defense Department’s Defense Business Board and chairman of the audit committee for the board of directors of NextEra Energy.
He is also a member of the Presidents National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee and previously was the chair of the committee on the Internet of Things.
Swanson also currently chairs the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership and serves as vice chairman of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation’s board of directors.
