A Northrop Grumman subsidiary has received a contract to produce air traffic control communications equipment for a nationwide ATC modernization project in South Africa.
Park Air Systems will provide its T6 Radio, remote control and monitoring system, multi-access remote control server, integrated cabinets, cavity filters and controllers for installation at South Africa’s major airports, Northrop said Thursday.
The products will replace Park Air-made ATC communications equipment installed across the region in 1997.
The contract was awarded by the project’s prime contractor AME Air Traffic Management.
Northrop said Park Air will supply the equipment to Air Traffic and Navigation Services, provider of air traffic management services in the South African market.
