Microsoft has released the Azure Blueprint tool for Defense Department clients in an effort to help Azure Government users at the agency attain authorizations to operate.
Nate Johnson, a senior project manager at Microsoft, wrote in a blog post published Monday the Azure Blueprint has expanded in a push to aid DoD customers that utilize the Azure Government cloud platform to document customer security responsibilities.
Defense Department mission owners and third-party providers can also use the Azure Blueprint customer responsibilities matrix and system security plan templates to develop systems on behalf of DoD customers.
Azure Government received a provisional authorization at DoD Impact Level 4 in June for functions to process controlled and unclassified information such as export control data, protected health information and privacy information.
“We look forward to providing DoD L5 Azure Blueprints once we attain our Impact Level 5 PA for the Microsoft Azure Government DoD Regions,” said Johnson.
