McKesson has introduced an electronic health record platform that works to help pharmacies, laboratories and operating rooms facilitate workflow management.
The Paragon 14.0 EHR system from McKesson Enterprise Information Solutions has a computerized physician order entry tool and can be integrated with the company’s OneContent enterprise resource planning system designed to facilitate storage and retrieval of financial documents, McKesson said Monday.
The EHR system also has the Paragon Laboratory Results Release Grid, Paragon Clinician Mobile on the Apple platform that works to facilitate order placement and other mobility functions and the updated Paragon Laboratory status function that helps laboratories identify semi-quantitative and qualitative results.
Auburn Community Hospital served as one of the selected pilot sites for McKesson’s Paragon 14.0.
Christopher Ryan, chief information officer at Auburn Community Hospital, said clinicians have recognized how the EHR platform has helped streamline navigation and workflows since the hospital went live with the system.
