Iridium has agreed to integrate its asset tracking and monitoring service into vehicle monitoring systems built by Japan-based construction and mining equipment maker Komatsu.
McLean, Virginia-based Iridium said Thursday its network will aim to provide real-time vehicle location, health, diagnostics and proactive maintenance data for Komatsu’s KOMTRAX system under the contract.
Ichiro Nakano, executive officer and vice president at Komatsu’s ICT solution division, said Iridium’s global network will support Komatsu’s construction and mining equipment in harsh and remote locations across the world.
The agreement gives Komatsu access to Iridium’s global network for off-road telematics and machine-to-machine devices.it
