Interplay Learning has received a $1.25 million contract from the Energy Department to develop a content platform that will feature three-dimensional simulations and educational tools intended for solar installation training programs.
DOE awarded the cooperative contract through the Technology to Market program under the department’s SunShot Initiative with the goal to increase the adoption of solar technologies, Interplay Learning said Tuesday.
“We are thrilled to be contributing to advancing the goals of the SunShot Initiative,†said Doug Donovan, CEO of Interplay.
Interplay will use contract funds to create a series of simulation-based training methods and tools for solar companies to train new employees.
The company partnered with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority in 2014 to produce a solar troubleshooting simulation training system.
