IBM and Esri have teamed up to provide cognitive analytics and Internet of Things offerings to government and enterprise customers through the IBM cloud platform.
The partnership will offer IBM cloud technology users and developers access to Esri’s maps, data, geospatial tools and analytical services complemented by IBM’s security tool, predictive analytics and Cognos performance management software, Esri said Tuesday.
Both companies also seek to help clients accelerate migration to cloud-based geospatial and data-mapping systems through Esri’s managed cloud services.
S.J. Camarata, head of corporate strategy at Esri, said IBM cloud users and developers who develop cognitive services with IBM analytics, IBM Watson IoT and IBM Watson platforms will have access to Esri’s software, developer tools and application programming interfaces.
The integration of Esri and IBM technologies will work to help organizations predict risk to buildings, analyze citizen behavior and forecast machine failures.
