Gemalto will supply electronic identification cards, residence permit cards and electronic passports to Norway under a new contract with the nation’s national police directorate.
The company will provide its Allynis Issuance and Coesys Case Management system to help prospective Norwegian citizens through the process of applying for the Sealys eID cards and ePassports as well as residence permit cards, Gemalto said Tuesday.
The citizenship application management program in Norway will use the Gemalto technologies beginning 2018.
Frederic Trojani, executive vice president for government programs at Gemalto, said the supply of eIDs and residence permit cards is intended to help Norway streamline the process of issuing the citizenship documents.
The company added the tools are designed to follow International Civil Aviation Organization best practices for enrollment, document verification, identity proofing and lifecycle management.
