DRS Technologies has secured a potential $65 million task order to manufacture and supply night-vision goggle systems to the U.S. Army.
The service branch awarded the initial production order under a potential $367 million indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that DRS received in September 2015 in support of the Enhanced Night Vision Goggle III and Family of Weapon Sights – Individual program, DRS said Wednesday.
The DRS-built technology platform has a wireless system that works to transmit weapon sight-derived imagery to the night-vision goggle and is designed to help warfighters acquire and engage targets as well as perform situational awareness functions.
DRS collaborates with United Technologies Corp.‘s aerospace systems business’ subsidiary N2 Imaging Systems on the ENVG III program.
