Deloitte‘s philanthropic arm and the University of Illinois College of Business have established a facility to develop curriculum focused on business analytics.
The Center for Business Analytics at Urbana-Champaign aims to help students gain data knowledge as well as develop skills and abilities necessary for business leadership through the curriculum, Deloitte said Tuesday.
Deloitte Foundation also provided a $5 million gift to support business analytics education and talent development efforts at the Illinois College of Business.
“It is a natural fit for us to support the University of Illinois and its Center for Business Analytics as our organizations share a commitment to developing faculty, cultivating talent and accelerating education to meet the pace of business,” said Mike Fucci, Deloitte chairman of the board and Deloitte Foundation chairman.
Jon Davis, head of the accountancy department at the University of Illinois, added the creation of the center will help the university “to create, disseminate and maintain model curricula for faculty that can be made available to other colleges and institutions of higher education.”
