The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency have awarded a $7.2 million contract to a PAR Technology subsidiary to develop digital media forensics technology.
PAR Government Systems will apply its experience in image and video processing, cloud computing, data analytics and digital media forensics to support DARPA’s Media Forensics research-and-development program, the company said Tuesday.
Matt Cicchinelli, PAR Government president, said the company assembled a team of industry and academic technical professionals to help address the technological requirements of the MediFor project.
MediFor is a collaborative program that seeks to develop new technologies to support the advancement of media forensics as well as establish an open standards-based multisource plug-and-play architecture to aid interoperability and integration of software and hardware platforms.
