CyrusOne has acquired an additional 29 acres of land at the Continuum Business Park in Chandler, Arizona, in support of the company’s expansion efforts in the West Coast.
The land purchase extends the company’s Phoenix data center campus to above 85 acres and approximately 2 million square feet of data center space to deliver cloud, internet and data center infrastructure services, the company said Tuesday.
CyrusOne added it plans to develop the property to interoperate with its existing data center facilities within the Arizona campus.
Kevin Timmons, chief technology officer at CyrusOne, has noted the Phoenix metro area is home to a growing data center market.
“As we look to the future, we have a similar desire to build a comparable campus in the Santa Clara, California region,” he added.
The Phoenix data center campus is part of the company’s National Internet Exchange platform designed to link CyrusOne data centers in the U.S. in an effort to address clients’ current and potential information technology requirements.
The global colocation services provider has also constructed a new data hall within its Phoenix campus as part of its expansion efforts.
