Microsoft has introduced new programs and services that seek to help government agencies adopt cloud platforms.
Curt Kolcun, vice president of the U.S. public sector at Microsoft, wrote in an article published Tuesday that the company has made the Azure Government Marketplace and the Operations Management Suite portal available to Azure Government cloud users.
The OMS portal works to help users gather and analyze data derived from on-premises and cloud environments, while the Azure Government Marketplace is designed to help agencies find software platforms and applications for their data infrastructure.
Microsoft has signed a Criminal Justice Information Services agreement with the state of Georgia and introduced the Azure Government preview program intended for clients across the Defense Department, Kolcun said.
Kolcun also noted the launch of the Azure Blueprint program, Microsoft’s partnership with Red Hat that seeks to facilitate migration to the Azure Government cloud platform, as well as the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program certification that Microsoft received for 13 Azure Government Cloud services.
He also cited other agencies that have adopted Microsoft’s cloud platforms and services such as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Memphis Police Department.
