Canada’s air transport security authority has renewed its contracts with G4S Secure Solutions, GardaWorld and Securitas Transport Aviation Security for airport screening services across the country.
CATSA said Tuesday the potential ceiling values of the extensions total $2.6 billion and each contractor will extend work with the agency by five years through March 31, 2022.
Angus Watt, CATSA’s president and CEO, said the agency and its industry partners will continue to invest in front-line personnel and training.
Watt added that the renewed agreements allow the agency to build on previous security screening efforts and seek to implement improvements in services offered to travelers.
CATSAÂ conducted a thorough assessment of the contractors’ performances over the initial five-year deals that began November 2011.
