A new study by CA Technologies has found that 82 percent of senior information technology and business executives believe that implementation of an identity-centric approach to security plays a critical role in their businesses.
CA Technologies said Tuesday it commissioned marketing research provider Coleman Parkes to poll 1,770 IT executives in 10 industry sectors across 21 counties between May and September for the study.
The study showed that 83 percent of respondents say that security works to protect the brand, while at least 60 percent said they use customer experience, digital reach and business growth as metrics to evaluate security’s impact on their enterprises.
“Any successful digital transformation requires an organization to build trusted digital relationships with their customers, employees and partners, and identity-centric security is the foundation of that effort,†said Mordecai Rosen, senior vice president and general manager of security business at CA Technologies.
The report also noted that 64 percent of IT executives surveyed are considered basic identity-centric security platforms users, while 25 percent of respondents are classified as advanced users.
According to the report, 41 percent of advanced identity-centric security users have experienced a decline in data breaches compared with 21 percent of basic users.
