BAE Systems has received a potential $11.4 million contract from the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity to develop a tool designed to help U.S. intelligence and military agencies detect and predict cyber attacks.
IARPA awarded the contract under the Cyber-attack Automated Unconventional Sensor Environment program, BAE said Thursday.
The agency launched the CAUSE program in July 2015 in an effort to develop new sensors that work to complement intrusion detection technologies and apply “non-typical data†in a cybersecurity domain.
The company said it will create predictive methods designed to detect network threat indicators from external data streams and generate warnings through correlation of data from various sources.
BAE will work with Digital Operatives, StratumPoint and David Maimon, a University of Maryland professor, on the program through its Arlington, Virginia-based facility.
