Thales‘ Vormetric company has unveiled a tool that works to provide security orchestration for the Vormetric Data Security Platform of products with encryption across data centers and cloud environments.
Vormetric said Thursday the Thales Orchestrator is comprised of a patented system that helps deploy encryption and rotate encryption keys without taking applications offline as well as a cloud-based service to manage Salesforce Platform Encryption key life cycles.
Thales Orchestrator also works to support “bring your own encryption key” management for Amazon Web Services platforms through Thales’ hardware security modules, in-line tokenization as well as Docker data-at-rest encryption and access controls, Vormetric added.
The company noted orchestration addresses the need to change resource usage regularly as well as accelerate the time it takes to deploy, manage and decommission systems and applications.
Thales acquired Vormetric through a $424 million deal to integrate the latter company into Thales’ e-Security business, GovCon Wire reported Mar. 17.
