The U.S. Air Force has awarded UES and Universal Technology Corp. a $43.8 million multiple-award, cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to perform research and development work in support of the service’s technical operations program.
The contract covers support for materials integrity, acquisition systems and logistics systems, the Defense Department said Friday.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract will include the synthesis, formulation and mechanics of materials; materials characterization and processing; interfacial chemistry, physics and transport properties; and analysis, evaluation and implementation of production process updates.
Work will be performed at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio through Sept. 30, 2024.
The Air Force Research Laboratory received two bids for the contract and obligated $25,000 to each company from its fiscal 2016 research, development, test and evaluation funds.
