ManpackRadio1A new Technavio report has cited General Dynamics, Harris, L-3 Communications, Rockwell Collins and Thales as the tier-one vendors in the global man-portable communication systems market through 2020.

Technavio said Monday that in-house manufacturing, fresh technologies, global footprint network, product offerings, research and development investments and robust customer base are the key factors necessary to compete in the market.

“The global man-portable communication systems market is highly competitive, and vendors compete based on cost, product quality, reliability and aftermarket service,” said Moutushi Saha, a lead analyst for research on the defense sector at Technavio.

“It is crucial for the vendors to provide cost-effective and high-quality man-portable communication systems equipped with latest technologies to survive and succeed in an intensely competitive market environment,” Saha added.

Technavio noted that the five vendors focus on the implementation of lightweight materials, electric technologies and robust systems for competitive purposes.
