Microsoft has received a provisional authority-to-operate from the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program‘s joint authorization board for the company’s cloud-based customer relationship management software offering for public sector clients.
The company said Thursday its Dynamics CRM Online Government platform has been granted P-ATO at moderate level through the FedRAMP Accelerated process that works to expedite the CSP certification timeline within six months or less.
The expedited authorization program helped the company gain P-ATO within 15 weeks.
Microsoft designed its Dynamics CRM Online Government offering to provide federal agencies access to customer service, contract, grant and correspondence management applications.
FedRAMP JAB approved the company’s Windows Azure in 2013, which Microsoft said represents the first public cloud platform to receive certification under the government-wide cloud security certification program.
