The Labor Department has selected a team comprised of Maximus, Employ Milwaukee and hospitality and restaurant employers in the city to implement a workforce development platform that seeks to support job seekers and employers at DOL’s American Job Centers or One-Stop Centers.
The WIO A-Team developed a visual career pathway prototype designed to feature an employee’s career history, responsibilities and potential opportunities with an employer using short videos as part of the Customer Centered Design project challenge, Maximus said Monday.
The team’s Follow My Path prototype approach seeks to put employers at the center of the Career Pathways strategy and specific sector strategies in line with CCD and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
Maximus CEO Richard Montoni said the team members combined their different areas of expertise to develop the workforce development approach.
The company added WIO A-Team performed research and interviewed employers and job seekers in an effort to provide “career seeker to position” matches using employer-specific position information.
The WIO A-Team is among the 15 teams selected to take part in a learning exchange and celebration event Monday at the White House.
